This is just about the last thing the Washington Capitals needed. Goaltender Tomas Vokoun shook his head as he skated to the bench, apparently aggravating a groin injury that has lingered for almost a month. Pronouncing himself finally healthy, Vokoun looked to be the man in net down the stretch. But his comeback ended late in the first period against the Boston Bruins, a rough moment on a roller-coaster night. It may wind up being a devastating turn of events for the Capitals, but Thursday it wasn't, as Michal Neuvirth stepped in to pick up the shootout victory.
