Miami running back Cam'Ron Harris will miss the rest of the season after suffering a lower-body injury in Saturday's loss to North Carolina, coach Manny Diaz said Monday.

Harris, a redshirt junior, leads Miami with 409 yards rushing and five touchdowns. He had back-to-back 100-yard games against Central Connecticut and Virginia before sustaining the injury against UNC. The Hurricanes already lost starting quarterback D'Eriq King for the season due to injury.

“The injuries thing has been extraordinary," Diaz said during his weekly Monday morning radio appearance on WQAM's Joe Rose show. "We lose the guy that really transformed our offense (quarterback D'Eriq King) in addition to a couple offensive linemen (center Corey Gaynor, left guard Jalen Rivers), two running backs (Cam'Ron Harris, Don Chaney Jr.)."
