Rion Brown scored 22 points and the Hurricanes never trailed in beating the visiting Eagles in ACC play. Brown was 4-of-7 from 3-point range to reach 1,000 points for his career and Erik Swoope notched 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists for the Hurricanes (14-13, 5-9 ACC). Garrius Adams registered 10 points and six rebounds, and Tonye Jekiri had five points and seven boards off the bench. Patrick Heckmann matched his season-high with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting for the Eagles (7-20, 3-11), who couldn't follow up Wednesday's stunning overtime victory over No. 1 Syracuse. Olivier Hanlan was 2-of-7 from the field and finished with 11 points and six rebounds, and Ryan Anderson managed eight points and six boards. Miami increased its five-point halftime lead to 13 on a jumper by Brown less than six minutes into the second half and held off the Eagles the rest of the way. A jumper by Anderson brought Boston College to within eight points with fewer than 11 minutes left, but the Hurricanes rattled off nine straight points to take their largest lead at 53-36. The Hurricanes pushed their lead to 20 on another 3-pointer and layup from Brown and eventually led by 27 in the final seconds. Miami led from the outset and built a 27-22 halftime advantage behind 10 points from Brown. GAME NOTEBOOK: Neither team shot particularly well in the first half as the Eagles made 8-of-22 field goals and the Hurricanes shot 10-of-28. ...
