The Mets talked it over, and Matt Harvey will not be pitching on short rest tonight, after all. “We have reconsidered and Matt will not pitch tomorrow. He will pitch on Thursday,” Terry Collins said after the Mets’ 9-1 loss to the Phillies. “Dan (Warthen) and I and Sandy (Alderson) talked about it, and we have possible weather issues popping up, and we certainly don’t want that to be a factor. So we just said we’ll push him back.” Earlier in the day, Alderson had supported the decision to allow Harvey to start on three-days’ rest even though he was torched for seven runs in two innings Saturday in Houston in his first start off the disabled list. Collins added that he didn’t “have the faintest idea” who would start in Harvey’s place, but it’s likely to be either Tommy Milone or Robert Gsellman.
