Johan Santana will definitely get extra rest after tossing a career-high 134 pitches while recording the Mets' first no-hitter on Friday night. Terry Collins said before Sunday night's game that as of now, Santana is scheduled to pitch on Thursday, which would give him one extra day of rest, but that's contingent on how well his bullpen session goes on Monday. It's possible Santana could get an additional day if necessary. As a result, R.A. Dickey is penciled in for Wednesday's start, which would be on three days' rest. However, that too is contingent on a bullpen session, which Dickey will throw on Monday. "I'm going to wait to see (Dickey's) bullpen tomorrow," Collins said. "If his is a little rough, we may back off." Jeremy Hefner will be prepped for Wednesday's start if need be.
