Eduardo Escobar completed one of baseball’s most impressive feats in the Mets victory over the Padres on Monday. He became the first Met since 2012 to hit for the Cycle. Escobar stepped to the plate in the 9th inning needing a triple to complete the accomplishment and he got the job done. His incredible night drew honest takes from pitcher Carlos Carrasco and manager Buck Showalter.

Carrasco, who pitched 7 innings of dominant 2 run-ball while striking out 10, said the following in reference to Eduardo Escobar’s Cycle.

“It was really fun to watch what he did today. To run for the triple, the homer, all that kind of stuff, I’m going to appreciate that.”
