The New York Mets and infielder Eduardo Escobar have agreed to a two-year, $20 million contract, a source confirmed to The Athletic on Saturday. Escobar split the 2021 season between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers.

A first-time All-Star this year, Escobar had 139 hits, 28 homers and 90 RBIs to go with a .253 batting average and .786 OPS. He reached his 1,000th career hit in October.
