Less than 24 hours after Memphis pulled off the biggest win of coach Tubby Smith's tenure, the Tigers were met with sobering news about their best player. Point guard Jeremiah Martin will miss the rest of the season after suffering a broken foot during Thursday's upset win over No. 23 Houston, the school announced on Friday. Martin, the American Athletic Conference's leading scorer, will undergo surgery on Tuesday, and the junior is expected to be out four to six months. The Memphis native came up hobbling with less than six minutes left in the first half on Thursday after colliding with a Houston defender and falling hard to the court. He tried to continue playing, but soon took himself out of the game due to the pain.
