After what occurred against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night, Brandan Wright's value to the Dallas Mavericks just increased twofold. Wright is the backup to starting center Samuel Dalembert. But Wright is out indefinitely with a small, non-displaced fracture of his left shoulder after incurring that injury during an Oct. 8 practice session. Wright's value surfaced when the 6-11 Dalembert went to the bench with four fouls early in the third period Friday, and the Mavs turned to 6-6 DeJuan Blair to protect the paint and also to contain 7-2 Roy Hibbert. It was not a good outing for Blair -- the Mavs were a minus-29 when he was on the floor -- and it showed how much the Mavs miss Wright. "(Wright is) very important, but until we get him back we’re only going to be talking about the guys that are available,'' coach Rick Carlisle said Saturday. "We can’t lament that right now. "We've got to pick it up with the guys we have available.''
Mavs sorely miss Brandan Wright
