Jason Kidd made his first appearance in front of the media on Friday as the new head coach of the Dallas Mavericks. While he faced many different questions, one that took center stage was Giannis Antetokounmpo’s book, which portrays Kidd as someone who Giannis didn’t like during his time in charge of the Milwaukee Bucks. However, he had quite the perfect response to those allegations. Via The Forth Worth Star-Telegram:

“I’m waiting for Giannis for when he writes it,” Kidd said. “I’m aware of [the book], but if it’s not from Giannis I won’t pay attention to it.”

Jason Kidd also proceeded to explain the unique relationship he has with the Greek Freak, despite getting fired by the Bucks several years ago:

“There are no feelings about it because it was not Giannis’ book. The cool thing is my relationship with Giannis goes beyond basketball,” Kidd said. “I talked to him a couple of hours after his son was born. Cool little name, ‘Maverick.’
