New Mexico State head men's basketball coach Marvin Menzies announced on Thursday that forward Matej Bouvac will be transferring to Sacred Heart University at the end of this semester. Buovac will be entering his junior year of eligibility at the start of next season. Located in Fairfield, Connecticut, Sacred Heart is a Division I school in the Northeast Conference. The Pioneers posted a 5-26 record during the 2013-14 season with a notable win over Mount Saint Mary's, who went to the NCAA Tournament and lost to Albany in the First Four. "I would like to thank Matej for his time spent at NM State and his contributions to the men's basketball program," Menzies said in a university press release. "We wish him luck with his academic and athletic endeavors in the future." Listed at 6-foot-7, 220 pounds, Buovac was utilized at times as a long-range shooter with the Aggies. Buovac played in 26 games during his sophomore campaign for a total of 193 minutes. He had his season-high of 24 minutes against Idaho at the Pan American Center on Jan. 11.
