Maryland wide receiver Dontay Demus Jr. will under surgery on a season-ending knee injury, coach Mike Locksley said Tuesday. The senior was injured on a kickoff return early in the second quarter of last Friday's 51-14 loss to Iowa.

Demus leads the Big Ten in receiving yards, catching 28 passes for 507 yards and three touchdowns, with an average of 18.1 yards per reception. He finished with more than 100 yards in three of Maryland's first four games and had four catches for 61 yards in the first quarter against the Hawkeyes before leaving with the injury.
