Maryland has offered junior Zach Gentry, a 6-6 quarterback from Albuquerque, N.M., Rob Cassidy of is reporting. Gentry, who is ranked by Rivals as the 11th best quarterback in the junior class of 2015, also reportedly has offers from Louisville, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, San Diego State, and Tennessee. New Mexico would seem like a unique place for Maryland to go hunting for recruits, until one considers that offensive coordinator Mike Locksley coached at New Mexico from 2009-11. As for Maryland's quarterback situation, C.J. Brown will be back next season for a sixth year. He will likely be backed up by junior-to-be Caleb Rowe, who started in Brown's place while he was injured this season. Head coach Randy Edsall announced on Tuesday that quarterback-turned-wide-receiver Ricardo Young would graduate in the spring. Sophomore-to-be Shane Cockerille and rising junior Perry Hills are also on the depth chart.
