Keshawn Martin wasn’t happy with the way he returned kicks and punts last season. Martin returned 31 kicks for 741 yards for 23.9 yards per return. Martin was ranked 17th in the NFL in kick returns. At this point in the offseason, Martin says that the only way to get better by working during OTAs. “Just working out here, catching punts and catching balls,” Martin said. “We don’t get much work here on special teams, but just catching the punts and the kickoffs and looking over the old film and seeing what I could do better.” Martin also took over punt return duties after Trindon Holliday was released, returning 22 punts for 267 yards for 12.1 yards per return. That was fifth among qualified players in the NFL. Martin didn’t return a single kick or punt for a touchdown, but feels he was close.
