Goalie Martin Brodeur, who participated in his first full practice on Thursday since he sprained his right MCL on Feb. 6 at Montreal, returned to the ice for the morning skate and proclaimed himself fit enough to back up Johan Hedberg afterwards. Mike McKenna, who backed up Hedberg in Brodeur's absence, has been shipped back to Albany and Brodeur will be the backup tonight against the Rangers at The Rock. Brodeur, however, isn't expected to start on Saturday at Carolina although he'll make the trip. He said after the morning skate that he still needs a bit more work.
