Originally scheduled to host the Milwaukee Brewers this coming weekend, the Miami Marlins will instead be making the trip north as a result of Hurricane Irma. Due to the impact that the storm had on south Florida, the series between the Marlins and Brewers will be played at Miller Park. While there was some minor damage to the roof at Marlins Park, the bigger concern was the use of public resources and the impact that could have where there’s a greater need for public servants. Hence the decision to move the series to Milwaukee. “Major League Baseball in conjunction with the Miami Marlins, agreed that it is in the best interest of our community to relocate this weekend’s Marlins games against the Milwaukee Brewers to Milwaukee,” Marlins team president David Samson said in a statement. “Marlins Park stood ready to host the games, but we all agreed that burdening public service resources was not the proper course of action.
