The Marlins are nearing a contract extension with shortstop Miguel Rojas, tweets Craig Mish of SportsGrid and the Miami Herald. Rojas, who already locked in a $5.5MM salary for the 2022 season when he triggered a vesting option in September, will be signed through at least the 2023 campaign when the contract is completed. He’s represented by the Beverly Hills Sports Council.

It’s not yet clear whether there are additional options tacked onto the contract, but signing Rojas through the 2023 season amounts to a one-year extension of his current contract after his 2022 option vested last month.
