Hanley Ramirez hit a game-tying home run in the eighth inning and singled home the winner in the 11th, giving the Marlins a 5-4 win over the Astros and a two-games-to-one edge in the three-game series. The final inning of a series in which every game ended 5-4 got messy after a leadoff single from John Buck against David Carpenter. Chris Coghlan sacrificed, Jose Reyes was intentionally walked and after a wild pitch, Emilio Bonifacio was intentionally walked as well. Ramirez then put one over the head of Travis Buck, who had entered the game in right after Jordan Schafer injured his head in a collision at second base. Schafer said he felt dizzy but expected to be fine. "It's not the easiest (situation) in the world, but something I should be able to do," Carpenter said of having to walk the bases loaded. "I was really upset about the Ramirez situation where I gave him 1-2 and had him set up for a pitch and I didn't execute and went with the wrong pitch (a fastball).
