Mark Teixeira appears to be headed back to Florida to be examined by Yankees doctors after experiencing some discomfort swinging a bat in Arizona. It was enough to send Teixeira for X-rays Tuesday on his right hand and wrist. “The X-rays came back negative," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "I’m sure there’s more tests planned. That’s all I have right now.” Teixeira was in Arizona training with Team USA for the World Baseball Classic. His participation in that tournament is now likely to be over, though nothing is certain for now. “I don’t know exactly what the next step is, whether he’ll come back here or stay there, or he’ll go to New York,” Girardi said. “We’ll see.” Girardi hasn’t spoken to Teixeira since the injury occured Tuesday.
