In response to reports that the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to add a third play-maker around LeBron James and Anthony Davis — perhaps indicating disinterest in re-signing Dennis Schroder — one former Miami Heat teammate who won two NBA championships with LeBron is throwing his hat into the ring: Mario motherf*ckin Chalmers!

“Let me get a shot at this…..just a workout or let me come play pick up,” the 35-year old point guard tweeted.

For some reason, I don’t think Chalmers is exactly who the Lakers have in mind as they seek to ease the ball-handling load off James and upgrade their third-banana next to LeBron and AD.

So far this summer, the Lakers have been linked to (active) players such as Ben Simmons, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Lowry, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Collin Sexton, among other wings. Los Angeles has to decide how far into the luxury tax they are willing to go, which will determine whether they can re-sign key back-court players Talen Horton-Tucker and Alex Caruso (not to mention Schroder).
