Tuesday's signing of swingman Alan Anderson put the Washington Wizards in rarified air among NBA teams. Of the 30 squads, only four have one or fewer roster spots open. Anderson becomes Washington's 14th guaranteed contract once new business year transactions can start becoming official on Thursday. That leaves a solo slot available. Last year the Wizards waited until training camp before adding a 15th and final player. Maybe they do the same here. One open spot doesn't demand rushing. Based on numbers provided by a former longtime NBA front office member, many other teams don't have that luxury.
