The Seattle Mariners have apparently viewed their offseason as a success thus far, and as such decided to grant Kevin Mather a promotion, giving the longtime Seattle executive the new title of president and chief executive officer. Mather will continue to report to ownership, specifically continue to John Stanton, who is the Mariners’ managing partner and chairman of the board. But various organizational vice presidents will answer to Mather, who has spent 21 years in the organization. “Kevin Mather has progressively and successfully taken on more responsibility and provided consistently positive and creative leadership to the organization,” Stanton said in a news release.
