As expected, goaltender Jussi Rynnas has been recalled by the Maple Leafs. Rynnas is on the ice with the Leafs on Wednesday morning for practice at the MasterCard Centre. The summoning of Rynnas from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League became necessary when James Reimer injured his left knee during a 5-2 victory against the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night. Reimer is out at least a week. Matt Frattin is not practising this morning. Ben Scrivens will try to hold the fort as Reimer recovers. Scrivens was sharp in relief of Reimer against the Flyers. Winger Mike Brown (shoulder), who has missed the past seven games, and defenceman Carl Gunnarsson (hip), who has missed the past six games, also practised. The Marlies have acquired goalie Drew MacIntyre on loan from Reading of the ECHL to take Rynnas’ spot. The Leafs will depart on Wednesday afternoon for Raleigh, N.C., where they will play the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night.
