Manchester United are willing to pay Gareth Bale’s £480,000-a-week contract as they aim to sign him on loan from Real Madrid, according to reports.

Zinedine Zidane wants Bale to leave Madrid this summer as he is looking to overhaul his squad and the 29-year-old is not part of his plans for next season.

But offloading the Wales international is proving to be difficult.

Reports last month claimed that Madrid had not received any offers for Bale as they demanded a £75 million transfer fee.

Bale, meanwhile, has reportedly instructed his agent to tell Madrid’s hierarchy that he wants to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu.
