Eto’o is available for around £5million with his current employers Anzhi looking to trim their massive wage bill. Blues boss Jose Mourinho is on the lookout for a new forward and is keen to be reunited with the 32-year-old who he managed at Inter Milan should he miss out on number one target Wayne Rooney. However according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport United have also entered the running. The paper suggests that should Rooney get his wish and depart Old Trafford before the transfer window closes David Moyes will make a bid for Eto’o – with a meeting with the forward’s representative already arranged in England on Tuesday. The main stumbling block in the move for both Premier League clubs however is Eto’o giant salary with the Russians. The Cameroon legend is willing to accept a slight cut to his wages but will still demand close to £300000.
