Manchester United have made a £84million offer for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport.

It is believed the Red Devils have made the Senegal international their priority in the transfer window and have lodged a £84m bid for his signature, with the club facing stern competition for Ajax teenager Matthijs de Ligt.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has stated in the past that it would take a remarkable offer for him allow the 27-year-old to leave the Azzuri, wanting at least £89m for him to even consider the move.

However, the defender has a £133m release clause that becomes active from the summer of 2020, while Paris Saint-Germain have also been monitoring the former Metz youth team product.
