Victor Osimhen has responded to claims he's struck an agreement with Napoli. The Lille forward has branded the reports as "fake news" and promised to deliver any transfer updates directly.
Osimhen joined Lille from Belgian side Charleroi in July 2019 and he's quickly settled into Ligue 1 life.
The Nigeria international scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 38 appearances in all competitions before the season was prematurely ended by the coronavirus pandemic.
He's been linked with multiple clubs across Europe with Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton and Leicester all reportedly monitoring his situation.
The Premier League sides looked to have been beaten to his services by Serie A Napoli, who Nigerian website Omasports claimed had agreed a five-year deal with the player.
But Osimhen has now set the record straight.
“The news relating to my agreement with Napoli is false," the striker told Omasports. "I am surprised by these journalists who claim to be professionals. Ignore this fake news on my account, when there is an agreement for my transfer you will know it directly from me."
