The Penguins have removed center Evgeni Malkin from injured-reserve, and he is expected to be in their lineup tonight against Winnipeg at Consol Energy Center. They assigned rookie forward Beau Bennett to their farm team in Wilkes-Barre to clear a spot on the 23-man roster for Malkin, and recalled goalie Jeff Zatkoff from the Baby Penguins because of an unspecified injury to No. 1 goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Malkin missed nine games with an apparent shoulder injury. It still is not known whether Fleury or Zatkoff will back up goalie Tomas Vokoun against the Jets, although Zatkoff is the most likely candidate. He is 21-19 and has a 2.00 goals-against average and .919 save percentage in 43 games with the Baby Penguins this season.
