The Orlando Magic have signed free agent guard Michael Carter-Williams to a 10-day contract, the team announced Friday.

The 6-foot-6 Carter-Williams made one start in his 16 appearances this season with the Houston Rockets. He averaged 4.3 points and 1.3 assist in 9.1 minutes per game.

He was traded by the Rockets to the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 7 in exchange for a protected 2020 second-round pick. The Bulls then waived Carter-Williams.

The veteran point guard played for Magic coach Steve Clifford last season in Charlotte. He appeared in 52 games, starting two, and averaged 4.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 16.1 minutes per game.
