After failing to reach a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans for star forward Anthony Davis before the NBA trade deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers and top executive Magic Johnson have some tough work ahead of them.
According to ESPN NBA reporter Dave McMenamin, Johnson was recently asked about the negotiations with the Pelicans and revealed that they did not negotiate with him in good faith.
Magic Johnson is asked if New Orleans had good faith negotiations with the Lakers: “No.”
The Lakers reportedly made a huge offer to the Pelicans that would have included several of their top players and draft picks in exchange for Davis.
Whether the offer was genuine or not, we may never know. But all of the indications were that the team was willing to do almost anything to let LeBron James play with the Pelicans superstar.
