The Orlando Magic have waived third-year combo guard Doron Lamb. Lamb, 22, had struggled to garner consistent playing time with the Magic since the team acquired him, Tobias Harris and Beno Udrih from the Milwaukee Bucks in a trade for J.J. Redick, Gustavo Ayon and Ish Smith in Feb. 2013. The Magic also were nearing an important deadline regarding Lamb’s salary. Lamb’s salary of $915,243 for the 2014-15 season would've become fully guaranteed if he wasn't waived before Wednesday. Also, by waiving Lamb sooner than later, Lamb now has a chance to pursue opportunities with other teams in free agency.
