Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon is taking action to help make sure Orange County’s students get what they need during the coronavirus pandemic, and he’s asking for others to do the same.
"Here in Orange County, Florida, more than 150,000 students qualify to receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch at school. About 7,000 public-school students are homeless,’’ Gordon said in the video he recorded.
In the 1-minute, 22-second video posted Wednesday, Gordon discussed the importance of investing in youth and providing opportunities when they may not otherwise exist. The coronavirus outbreak has forced schools to close temporarily, robbing some students of breakfast and lunch.
