The LSU Tigers men’s basketball program woke up to some good news on Friday, learning that the school has received a commitment from class of 2018 five-star forward Emmitt Williams, who announced such news via Twitter. Williams, 6-7, hails from Lehigh Acres, Florida. He’s the No. 24 player in the entire cycle, the No. 8 power forward and the No. 4 player in the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports. The up-and-coming power forward received a grand total of offers from 16 schools across the country. When he trimmed the list down, he narrowed his future destinations to Florida, Oregon and LSU, before ultimately pledging to head coach Will Wade and the Tigers. “What stands out is it’s a great team,” Williams said earlier this month about LSU, per ESPN. “[Head] coach [Will] Wade is a heck of a coach. What he’s doing this year to the team is magnificent. The players, when I went on my visit, I saw them practice, they go after it.”
