Louisville should enter next college basketball season as contenders. Unfortunately, the program suffered a major hit this week during practice.

The Cardinals showed a bunch of promise under Chris Mack, but they started to run out of gas toward the end of the season.

While Louisville does have a pretty deep roster heading into next season, it will have to rearrange its depth chart following the latest injury.

On Monday, freshman guard David Johnson suffered a major shoulder injury. He’ll require surgery and miss up to 4-6 months.

The school announced that he’ll undergo surgery very soon.

It’s a tough blow to the Cardinals, especially since Johnson was expected to have an integral role on the team.
