Tottenham are lining up Holland boss Louis van Gaal to take over from Tim Sherwood at the end of the season. Spurs are sixth in the league, and Sherwood knows that he must achieve a Champions League finish if he wants to stay in his role. Chairman Daniel Levy oversaw a major squad overhaul last summer before sacking ex-boss Andre Villas-Boas, and wants a world-class manager to turn his club into title challengers. Spurs held talks with Van Gaal before handing Sherwood the reigns, but the Dutchman was not keen on holding two managerial roles.
