Mike Windt, a former Elder High School and Cincinnati Bearcats standout who spent the past nine seasons as a long snapper for the Los Angeles Chargers, was released by the team on Tuesday.

Windt, undrafted in 2010 and signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as a rookie free agent but cut before the season started, has spent his entire National Football League career with the Chargers, which thanked him with an announcement via Twitter from general manager Tom Telesco.

Windt appeared in all 100 games - regular and postseason - the Chargers played over the past six seasons, according to the team.
