The Los Angeles Angels acquired right-handed relief pitcher Hunter Strickland from the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Strickland owns a 1.69 ERA in 13 appearances for the Rays this season. He has recorded 16 strikeouts against just six walks over 16 innings pitched.

Tampa Bay selected Strickland’s contract on April 9 after starting out as a non-roster invitee to spring training.
