Barcelona could be ready to make a summer move for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, according to reports in Spain. The Catalan club have suffered a disappointing season both domestically and in Europe and are planning to overhaul their squad during the transfer window. Liverpool’s Agger has been targeted by Barcelona in the past and they are reportedly now set to rekindle their interest in the 29-year-old. Barca stalwart Carles Puyol will leave the Nou Camp at the end of the season, leaving Tata Martino chasing at least one new centre-half. And Agger’s experience means he has been pinpointed as the ideal replacement for the outgoing Spaniard. Agger has made just 17 starts for the Reds in all competitions this term, with injury and squad rotation both playing a part in his lack of regular involvement.
