After two nights of thrilling Champions League semi-finals, we know Liverpool will play Real Madrid in the 2022 final in Paris on May 28.

It’s a rematch of the 2018 final (Mohamed Salah’s shoulder, Loris Karius’s blunders, Gareth Bale’s overhead kick and all that) and a mouthwatering finale to what has been a gripping few months of Europe’s elite competition.

Here, our writers have delivered a quick take of what they’re most looking forward to — please add your own in the comments.

James Horncastle: I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the beginning of a series of Liverpool-Real Madrid finals. Obviously, Mohamed Salah already sees this as a chance to settle a score from 2018 but factor in Jurgen Klopp’s contract extension and the likelihood of Kylian Mbappe turning Real Madrid into more explicable force than the mystical, almost paranormal one they are today, and we should maybe brace ourselves for more.
