Spurs reportedly agreed a £10m deal in principle for the left back yesterday - just a day after the Reds had an £8m bid rejected by the South Wales club. But Kop boss Brendan Rodgers is now prepared to make another offer as he looks to strengthen his defence. Rodgers is keen to get Davies, 21, having monitored his progression through the club's youth set-up when he was Swansea manager. He has been left frustrated in the pursuit of his number one target for the left-back role after talks with Sevilla broke down over a deal for Alberto Moreno. Liverpool were hoping agreeing to loan Iago Aspas to the Spanish club with a view to a permanent move would smooth over those talks but they hit a dead end. Davies is interested in a move to Anfield and is hoping a deal can be reached so he can speak to both clubs.
