Last season, backup goalkeeper Adrian was key to Liverpool winning their first title of the Premier League era and first league title in three decades. This year, though, he has fallen to third goalkeeper on the depth chart.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the expectation is that he will move on shortly, perhaps returning to Real Betis after nine years in England—an option the player seems open and willing to talk about.

“I still have a lot of football left,” the 34-year-old goalkeeper told Cadena SER when asked about a potential return to the club he grew up at. “I have been away for nine years and it would be nice to come back, why lie?"
