Liverpool have opened the door to a Philippe Coutinho return, according to reports.

The Barcelona midfielder has endured a torrid time in Spain since completing a £142million transfer to the Nou Camp from Liverpool in January 2018.

His 'dream' move started out positively enough but Coutinho has fallen down the pecking order at an alarming rate in La Liga and is now open to the idea of leaving Barcelona for the sake of his career progression.

A number of clubs, including Manchester United, have been linked with a move for the Brazilian in recent months.

But Coutinho, who was booed by the Red Devils supporters in the Champions League last season, made it clear he wouldn't join United because of his respect for Liverpool.
