Liverpool are uninterested in signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly due to his £90 million price tag, according to reports.

The 29-year-old has established himself as one of Europe’s top centre-backs, attracting interest from the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis previously admitted that bids of less than £60 million for the Senegal international would be immediately dismissed.

And reports emerged earlier this week that the Reds were attempting to drive down the price by offering their fourth-choice centre-back Dejan Lovren as part of the deal.

However, Sky Sports claim that spending more than £60m on a player nearing the age of 30 is against the club’s transfer policy.

The Reds could still be willing to let Croatian defender Lovren leave this summer if they can find a suitable replacement.
