Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's stance on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been revealed ahead of the summer transfer window. The former Arsenal midfielder has endured an injury-hit spell at Anfield and is fancied by Atletico Madrid as part of a swap deal involving Arsenal target Thomas Partey.
Liverpool signed Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal for £35million in the summer of 2017 as Klopp continued his overhaul of the first-team squad.
A serious knee injury in the final weeks of his maiden campaign wrecked his second season but he has bounced back in style this term., making 21 starts in all competitions this season with a further 13 appearances coming from the bench.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has another three years left on his contract after penning an extension last August but is now being linked with an exit.
According to The Sun, Atletico Madrid are set to offer Thomas Partey to Liverpool in exchange for the England international.
The Reds are unlikely to sanction the trade, however, because of Klopp's stance.
It is claimed the Liverpool boss considers Oxlade-Chamberlain a key part of his first-team squad.
