Barcelona are now hoping to land the Reds striker in a cut-price after FIFA hammered the Uruguay striker. The La Liga side were preparing an £80m deal that included winger Alexis Sanchez, but may now come in a lot lower as Suarez will miss at least 12 club games next season. However, the Reds are not ready to wash their hands of the striker just yet and are still expected to fight to keep hold of him. Suarez himself could also push for a route out of the club after the latest in a long list of offences. The 27-year-old was thrown out of the World Cup yesterday by FIFA for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini. He was banned for nine competitive internationals, starting with tomorrow's last 16 clash against Colombia, suspended for four months from all football-related activity - including training and going to games, and also fined 100,000 Swiss francs (£65,000). As a result he will not be able to play club football until October 26. There is a feeling in Uruguay that the English media have led the cries for Suarez to be banned and the striker may feel it impossible to play in this country again. He could use that as leverage to force a move out of the country and after his camp already flirted with Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent weeks, Spain is the likely destination.
