A source told FanRag Sports that LIU Brooklyn has fired the program’s basketball coach Jack Perri. He was the head coach for the program for five seasons. Operating as LIU’s 13th head coach in the history of the program, Perri led the program to an overall record of 77-79. For Northeast Conference play, the Blackbirds were 46-42. This season, LIU Brooklyn went 20-12 and finished second in the Northeast Conference. During the 2012-13 college basketball season, when LIU Brooklyn was known as just Long Island, the Blackbirds went 20-14 and made the NCAA Tournament as a team that participated in the First Four. Before joining the program, Perri started his career as an assistant coach with Bentley, then becoming the head coach of Rhode Island College, a member university of the Little East Conference (Division III). He was the LEC Coach of the Year during his one season with the program.
