Detroit Lions defensive tackle C.J. Mosley vehemently disagreed with being flagged for roughing quarterback Ben Roethlisberger during last Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. After reviewing the film of the incident, the NFL agreed. Mosley wasn't fined, despite being assessed a 15-yard penalty on the third-quarter play. The official's microphone malfunctioned while explaining the call, but the defensive tackle was told it was for leading with the crown of his helmet, not for a late hit. The official who threw the flag was behind the play and had his view partially obstructed by Roethlisberger. Mosley did lower his head on the hit, but made contact with his shoulder.
