Will Herring, the reserve linebacker released by the New Orleans Saints on March 12 to trim salary, will be rejoining the team, a league source confirmed Thursday. While Herring hasn't re-signed with the Saints yet, but the source said he is expected to do so soon. Before his release, Herring would have held a salary cap number around $1.9 million as the Saints will save $1.6 million in cap space by releasing him. Herring originally signed a three-year deal with the Saints in 2011 and was given an opportunity to win a starting job during his first season. But he never moved into the starting lineup on a permanent basis. Herring compiled 22 total tackles and one interception during his two seasons in New Orleans.
