With the Oklahoma Sooners rolling under Lincoln Riley once again and with the NFL’s Washington Redskins in search of a head coach, the line has already been drawn between Norman and D.C.
Riley is one of the best young coaches in football — at both the college and NFL levels. That’s why people have already begun to connect Riley with the Redskins before the seat in Jay Gruden’s office got cold. It’s easy to understand why Washington would be interested in Riley. He’s worked wonders with quarterbacks as he’s already produced back-to-back Heisman Trophy winners and back-to-back No. 1 overall picks in the NFL Draft.
However, it does take two to tango, and Riley may not be a willing dance partner for Dan Snyder and the Redskins. According to NFL insider Benjamin Allbright, Riley doesn’t have any desire to coach the Redskins.
