Leroy Sane insists he did not fall out with Pep Guardiola before leaving Manchester City.

Germany international Sane returned to his homeland by joining Bayern Munich in a £55million deal earlier this month.

The 24 year-old signed a big-money deal with the Bundesliga winners after refusing to extend his contract at the Etihad.

City chiefs spent almost a year attempting to persuade Sane his future should be in Manchester, but he continued to rebuff their approaches, due to his desire to join the German champions.

Sane and Guardiola didn’t always see eye-to-eye during his time at the Etihad, with frustrations over playing time.

But he insists they had no problems and insists parting ways was a difficult decision.

"Our relationship is good," he insists. "There was never a point when one was tired of the other and I am grateful for everything he taught me.

"Pep Guardiola helped me to a very high level. He is very meticulous and wants to advance the players every day.

"He is persistent when it comes to his tactics - but that's positive, it helped me. We even lived in the same building, so we saw each other often.
